I just posted this on VI:Control. I thought people might be interested here as well.
I'm going to a discussion on Saturday in New York City where musicians will talk about AI. I'm hoping there will be some people who don't want their music to be trained on AI. So I've done some research.
1) Export your 24-bit wav master to an offline backup.
2) Apply a digital watermark.
Trusted Audio once paid, now free.
If AI clones your song later, a platform like ACR Cloud can prove that your music was stolen.
3) Add a "Poison" Layer
Put (hopefully imperceptible) crap into your track. To a human, it sounds like your track. To AI, genre, tempo, and key are distorted, making it useless for training.
MusicShield 6 min/month for free; 30 min/month for $6 (Lite); 50 minutes/month for $10 (Starter); 180 min/month for $30 (Pro).
4) VERY IMPORTANT: Check your track. I plan to have a lot of friends do A/B testing before I accept that my AI-scrambled tracks sound as good to the human ear.
5) Make sure you know your distributor's or music website's policy before uploading. For example, LANDR has a "Fair Trade AI Program" This theoretically gives you money for letting your songs be scraped. With LANDR, it's opt-in, so check what your status is with your distributor. This makes more sense, I think, if you have a large body of work, as you are paid by the amount that is trained.

As many of you know, I've been working (forever) on a five-song EP, so this won't take a long time for me. One song was up on Soundcloud for a week or two, but it's been changed since then. But if you are in the "release everything you make" club, then I doubt you care about whether your songs are scraped, because you are climbing the Mountain of Belief.
Of course, all this AI stuff is on top of the old-fashioned things like copyright, PRO, MusicWatch, YouTube ID, etc.
PS Ironically, I learned a lot of this through ChatGTP.
