Ability to upload images to PMs is missing

I was sending a private message to a friend a moment ago and wanted to attach an example of a contract I used for hiring a vocalist, but I noticed that in private messages, there was no "Drop Image" box to upload an image from a computer. There was only via web URL option.

Looking now, it looks like the usual "Attach Files" button is there. That should work?

I see that option for posts, but not direct messages. Here are all the options I see for direct messages:

And here is what I see when I click on the image icon. I see the option to add an image via URL, but no option to upload one from my computer:

Hmmm, that's odd. I have the Attach files button here, even in PMs. (Safari on Mac ... which is usually the worst at behaving properly!) From your screencap, though, it sho nuff isn't there for you.

This sounds like a Xenforo bug, since we don't have any control over things like that. (It's not a setting.) So I'm guessing you would have the same issue on VI-Control?

There are a couple workaround possibilities. The first is to just drag-n-drop an image into the message. That's what I do in posts anyway (rather than clicking the Attach Files button), since it's quicker, plus easier to place where the image goes.

You can also use Command-P (on Mac) which pops up a Drag Image box. That's also accessible with the Image button just to the right of the smilie button in your picture. (With those top buttons, Insert Image is possible, but Insert Media or Insert Video are not.)

I just tried sending a test DM to @Polkasound. Drag and drop didn’t work, and no attach files option was available. But in the normal forum posting area, both drag and drop and attach files are available.

Edit: FWIW, In VI-C, I have attach file and drag and drop in both DM and in the normal posting area.

If it works on VI-C but not here, then maybe there's something that can be adjusted here. (The software, including settings, is essentially a carbon copy between the two forums, so maybe something didn't get copied.)

André @creativeforge can you think of anything that might be causing this?

Hey thanks for flagging this. I think I found the issue. I sent you a test image, let me know you got it?

That was a setting overlooked in group permissions. All should work as Vi-Control now.
