I'm new here, but old there....

I'm imported from the VI site. Today is the first day I realized this site exists (because I'm really alert or something, I guess .)

Main instruments: Tenor & Soprano Saxes, Flute (Classical & Folk), WX5, SS,S,A,T,B Recorders.

Secondary instruments: Keys, Acoustic & Fretless Basses, Electronic Percussion, (some) Guitar.

Favorite idioms: Jazz, Classical, Blues, Electronica, Rock/Pop.

Primary DAWs: Cubase and Bitwig (not necessarily in that order.)

Somewhat similar to Dr. Who in that I've been the possessor of two hearts (albeit serially rather than simultaneously.) I do not possess either a TARDIS or Sonic Screwdriver (though I'm working on procuring those.)

I'm quite fond of hoppy microbrews, pizza, scifi, and horror movies (again, not necessarily in that order.)

DC rather than Marvel (though I do enjoy both and the jury is still very much out on whether I'll be able to deal with James Gunn's take on anything DC, but then, I'm not too sure about the newest wave of Marvel movies either.)

In Jazz (no particular order to it):

Saxes: Brecker, Trane, Wayne, Jan Garbarek, Leibman, Kenny Garrett, Pepper Adams, Ronnie Cuber.
Piano (and keys): Jarrett, Herbie, Zawinul, Beirach, Kenny Barron, Brad Mehldau.
Bass: Ron Carter, John Pattitucci, Charlie Haden, Mingus, Jaco, Marcus Miller, Peacock.
Drums: Tony Williams, Jack DeJohnette, Elvin, Vinnie Colaiuta, Wackerman, Bruford.
Trumpet: Miles, Wallace Roney, Freddie, Blue Mitchell, Thad Jones.
Guitar: Metheny, Holdsworth, Towner, Stern, McLaughlin, Dominic Miller.
Trombone: Slide Hampton, Garnett Brown, Julian Priester.

In Classical, there aren't many composers that I don't like. I'm particularly fond of Gabrielli, Bach, Brahms, Beethoven, Berlioz, Debussy, Satie, and others. Right now, I'm working through Messiaen's text on his concepts. Performers I like are Rampal, Galway, Yoyo Ma, Voces8, and many more.

Electronica-wise, I tend to listen in my car, so I'm terrible at subgenres. I like Dub, Acid Jazz, and the drum programming in Rap (not as crazy for the "rap" itself), some Hip-hop, some House, and darker techno (I'm not sure if what I enjoy has a more precise name.) I hope this helps!
