Hi everybody,

I started writing songs when I was 15. I was in various rock bands all through high school, and also performed by myself, with Dylan and Laura Nyro as my main influences.

I've worked in the film business all my adult life and kept music for myself. I brought my synths and guitars when I got stuck in movie locations by myself for months. I never stopped writing songs. I did five movie scores, but just for fun and favors for friends. The song I wrote for a rubber frog named Tiger, in a short movie I wrote and directed, was generally considered the best thing about that movie. I have notebooks full of lyrics and chords, and I've recorded only a handful of them.

In recent years, through being on VI:Control, I've tried to write music without words. But nearly every piece had rough lyrics in my head and were structured like songs.

Starting a few years ago, I decided to return my focus to songwriting. For the first time in my life, I started reading songwriting books. I never read a single one before, but now I've read over two dozen of them and am still at it. I went over to songwriting forums and learned a few things there. I'm already learning useful things on this forum.

In January of last year, I started working on a songwriting project for my YouTube channel. More on that later. I hope to start uploading videos in April.
