Reason Lite upgrade sale also valid for Reason Adapted

I just found out that the upgrade sale for Lite is also valid for any Reason Adapted version. They used to give those away with certain hardware (got mine with my Korg padKontrol).

So, if you have a Reason Adapted license floating around, this might be a fairly cheap option to get the full version (until the end of the sale, in about two weeks).

Thank you @CrimsonWarlock!

I have Reason Lite. I bought it as a license transfer. I'm eyeing this as a way of getting a version of the Reason Rack plugin that I can use in my DAW. But the Reason Rack plugin version of Lite is already working for me inside Unify.

Are there any other advantages to upgrading for these purposes? This is currently a great price; but it also isn't a time that I want to spend too much.

I don't know exactly which devices are included in Lite, but it is obvious a subset of what is available in the full version. And depending on which version number you have, there are even more new devices that you won't have in your Lite version.

I suggest you take a look at what is included in R13 and if there are things you like to have, that you don't have now. You probably will get a whole lot of new players for MIDI processing. I would also y that the Combinator-2 is worth the upgrade price alone.

You can find all the info on the devices on the page linked below, just scroll down to the 'devices' heading:

That's great advice, thanks. I'll check out the details on the Combinator-2, as that could tip the balance of value for me.

The great thing with the new combinator is that there are a whole host of custom devices built with it, that are available for free download (including several from yours truly).
That sounds great! I'm pretty in the zone of weighing whether to buy it in this sale or a later one by this point. It looks like an incredible tool that could help solve some issues for me.

I skipped Reason 12 but the upgrade price to 13 of $79 was more or less, as it were, than I could ignore. It was a substantial update for me and I am pretty pleased with it. Also, if you haven't delved into the Reason reward point system, you could have some serious free cash to throw at some rack extensions.

There won't be a later sale. Reason Studios is retiring the Lite (and other limited) versions, and this current sale is the final upgrade event for those versions. After that, you will have to buy the full version, and even at sales it won't go as low as this offer. The full price is 500 euros/dollars, and I have seen sales for the full version as low as 170 euros/dollars, which is still more than the current offer at 149.

What developer name are your devices listed under?

I would like to check them out.

The it looks like now is the time. Thank you, I hadn't realised this. I'll probably buy it tonight.

Apparently the best moment to upgrade (from lite to 13) was last winter sale, which you could use the GROUP or FORUM code at JRRSHOP and price was 143. This sale ends on feb 14.

Studio One Pro 6 on a Mac M2. But I can still load Reason Rack in Unify, which enables it to work in my DAW. But I think that the extra features of Combinator 2 make the upgrade worth it for me.

The lite version was discontinued several years ago, but they are now retiring the upgrade options for those versions. You can read it on their blog:

We are talking about Combinator-2 creations, you don't have to be a developer for that. Some people have them hosted on a gumroad page. Others, including mine, can be found on the dedicated forum section on ReasonTalk:

I can drop direct links to some of mine if you like.

Awesome, Thanks. I misunderstood. I am a member at ReasonTalk, I will take a look.

I have now bought the upgrade. I haven't had a chance to try it all out yet but I did want to point people towards Audiodeluxe, where you can get an additional 10% off with the code WINTER10

I also had a few Deluxe Bucks (loyalty reward) that I could use to take more off. I also got a couple of free plugins with purchase.

I didn't try everywhere, there may be good reasons to buy it elsewhere instead.

Just as an additional heads-up, make sure to register for the reward points. Your upgrade should give you 20 points already.
Thank you! I didn't realise that there was an extra step. Even after registering the DAW with Reason Studios, it looks like you have to separately set-up a Reason Studios account/rewards scheme participation. I now have forty-five points for Lite, the upgrade, and five for the registration itself. Which is nice!
