How does one access Presonus Universal Control mixer view?

Hi everyone, I'm trying to remotely help a friend with their Studio 2|4 interface. I don't own the interface or software, so it hasn't been easy. When they open up their Universal Control, they get this screen:

How do they get from that screen to the input/output mixer window? I suggested they try clicking on the little picture of the interface or where it says "Studio 24" but they say nothing happens.

Thanks!

Sorry, the Windows version I have doesn't look like that.

And honestly, I'm not even sure what it's a driver for, or why it's installed on my machine.

Clicking the "..." icon in the upper right corner only shows me options that are already visible on his UI:

Clicking the "Metro" icon in the corner gets me this:

And the Gear icon gives me this, which I assume is for connecting remotely to the mixer:

The "hamburger" menu gets me this:

And choosing "Settings" gets me a sub-menu:

Which is where I suspect you're trying to get to, but since I don't have the hardware, there's not much to see in the tabs:

Thanks David. It turns out they are using a Mac desktop computer. What I'm specifically looking for is the part of the software where one can set the inputs to Mic, Line, or Inst. For all I know, Presonus might do that automatically depending on the type of connector plugged into it, but I'd like to be able to confirm that. Right now, my friend is running the line output of a mic preamp into the Presonus with a 1/4"-to-XLR cable. I think that's tripping the Presonus into preamping the signal.

Is it possible that the mixer is a separate app and not part of Universal Control? A long time ago, I had a Presonus interface and used this software but now I don't remember.

I think it is in Universal Control. What's making this whole experience weird is that all of the information I'm finding on the internet and from Chat GPT is incomplete. The directions all say to select the interface in Universal Control, but what I can't find is HOW and WHERE in Universal Control to do that.

My friend had someone else set up their recording gear and levels years ago, and my friend doesn't know anything about how that was done. So trying to walk them through gain staging is like trying to instruct someone who's never flown a plane before to fly a plane that I've never flown before, and neither one of us can access the gauges.

I never had one of those, but I did a quick scan of the user-manual and it doesn't mention anything like a mixer window. In the manual they point to the bundled Studio One Artist for setting up connections/routing, levels, etc.

I recently switched from my Focusrite 18I20 interface (which developed a nasty bug) to a Behringer UMC 1820 (a decision based on my current budget), and that one also doesn't have a mixer setup. Honestly, I don't need it and don't miss it.

In my manual for an old FireStudio Mobile, what we are calling the "mixer window" is called the "device window". The manual says to click to click on the "Device Window Button", accompanied by a picture of the bottom part of the main "Launch Window". It's not completely explicit, but it looks like they want you to click on the image of the hardware. I know that you've already tried that, but have you tried clicking on the label "Studio 24" to the right of the image, or on the USB symbol to the left of it?

Also, have you tried updating the software from the Presonus website?

I've given them the "click everywhere on everything" instruction, and they said nothing happens. Regarding updating their software, I serious doubt they've done that. I also doubt they'd know how or would have any interest in trying.

The person I'm trying to help is 100% musician, 0% engineer, and it's the 0% engineer that is making this process impossible. I basically bowed out and suggested that they find someone local who can look at their recording setup, follow the signal through the chain, check levels, listen for and track down issues, etc.
