Hi!
After many years of watching from the outside, I decided to sign up for this forum. Originally from Sweden, I moved to Shanghai, China some 15+ years ago. A programmer by trade, but I've got an education in drums and piano, I've taught myself guitar, and I've been dabbling in computer music since back on the C64. I wrote some EDM tracks about 15 years ago, but life got in the way and I didn't pursue it beyond writing many many unfinished pieces, most of which I've rescued recently and upgraded to the latest DAWs and plugins.
I've always wanted to write more music and I'm currently exploring orchestral music as well as the new wave of metal, hoping to manage to produce something interesting without falling into the trap of tinkering with tools instead of actually composing. Not doing too well on that last bit so far, LOL. At least I've gotten the opportunity to perform several piano pieces live on stage in the last couple of years as part of my late piano education.
Anyways, glad to be here, hope to learn more and to be able to assist others with what I've picked up over the years.
